Yes, I'm posting an update just because.
I just read the last blog post -- it's so crazy how much has changed in less than 6 months!
4 teeth?! Try 12. Twelve!!!
Crawling?! Currently working on what I call "scurrying." Not exactly a run or a jog or a sprint, but not a walk either. Maybe comparable to a brisk walk.
And the kid likes bread. A lot.
She says "Mom" really goofy, but prefers "Dad" -- and appropriately, prefers Dad all-around anyway. Definitely a Daddy's girl. And surprisingly enough, my feelings aren't hurt and I'm not overcome with insane jealousy. I think it's very special that she loves her Daddy that much.
Operation: Birthday Party was a huge success, but odds are you already know this if you're reading this blog.
Until next season...

- I have a beautiful daughter, a loving husband, and two goofy doggies. And fair warning, I type like I talk. So, ah, it might be a little choppy here and there or jump from topic to topic. Try your best to follow along.

Happy Jooooon!
| "WHOA, A BLOG UPDATE?!" |
Madelyn is growing up so fast. We're working on 4 teeth now. And we're also crawling at super speeds. Pulling up to standing with the help of furniture, too. Pretty soon, it'll be walking and cartwheels and backflips and triple axles...
She's getting such a personality too. Madelyn can now wave and give "kisses," which is basically just leaning in and placing her (open) mouth on your puckered lips. Obviously we'll have to correct that one eventually, but for right now, it's pretty cute. Probably won't be so cute when she's 10. Whatever.
Pterodactyl screams and screeches aren't too uncommon, especially in public places where people may be trying to hold a conversation. For example, Culver's. It's a good thing we don't attend church...
James doesn't think that she'll know how a mirror works when she gets older, because every day, we say, "Good morning!" to the happy baby in the mirror. Psssh, I think she'll be fine...
Madelyn has discovered that Cupcakes and Cheerios are yummy.
I can't wait for her birthday party. :)

:)
Awww... people still visit this blog! I'm a crappy blogger, and I think I say that every entry I make.
Anyway, Momma Lori has a new job. I have a lot more to say about that, but
a) it really doesn't matter, especially on this blog, and
b) it really could get me in some pretty big trouble if the right (or wrong) set of eyes got a peek.
ANYWAY, again.
Madelyn has her first toof! The second one has been looking like it's going to make an appearance for about a week now. But the first one keeps moving up and up and up... and it's so weird to see her smile with her lone tooth.
She's not crawling just yet, but almost. I'm sure she'll be on the move by the next blog entry. In fact, I think she'll probably be writing her full name by the next blog entry. Maybe even in cursive.
Currently, the words are "Mamamama" and "babababa" and "plllbbbhhttt" which is raspberry-speak, courtesy of Aunt Sara. Sometimes, she'll say "Dadadada" but not too often. Most mornings, we know she's awake when we hear her happily babbling in her room.
It's so hard to believe that she'll be a year, sooner rather than later. I'm already coming up with some super duper ideas for her birthday party. I know I'll want to do some sort of Americanized version of "Dol" which is a Korean thing. Google it. And I want to hire a professional photographer for her birthday party, for two reasons:
1) We'll have some nice "real" pictures of Madelyn with all sorts of important people in her life, and
2) Mommy will actually be in at least a few of the pictures! It'll look like Mommy was there too. Neat.
I really hope Madelyn isn't nearly as socially awkward as I am, and not nearly as everything else awkward like her daddy.

Baby Raspberry?
Time for the monthly update!
There's lots of fun stuff happening. I'll update eventually with all the little neat things at some point. :(
Madelyn finally met her Uncle Scott and Aunt Sara around Christmas. Aunt Sara taught her how to blow raspberries, and she's been doing it ever since. It's super cute now, but probably won't be as cute when she's 10 years old...

Sneezes are funny.
This just happened, so I had to blog about it, of course.
Madelyn tends to sneeze several times in a row (she gets that from her daddy). But if she winds up for the sneeze (you know, inhaling sharply) and doesn't actually sneeze, in place of the sneeze, she will let out this loud and exaspirated sigh of "HOOOOOOOH."
It makes me laugh every time.

Grumpy Gus.
Somebody's been pretty grumpy... it might just be the baby! It's usually when she's rounding hour number 7 or 8 that she gets crabby.
Grandpa got Madelyn a jumperoo for Christmas. It's funny to see how far down she sinks into the seat. She's enjoying wobbling all over the place, not really jumping just yet.
Madelyn's very first Christmas card came in the mail the other day. It was from her great-grandpa. He also sent a little Christmas gift inside the card. We were able to use that to set up a savings account for her.
Her new thing is to roll from her back to her side. Almost from back to tummy, but not quite there just yet.
Other than that... she just babbles and coos and smiles a lot. (When she's not being a grump, of course.)
